Into the Breach
Grotto Finchley O'Bonnet Ramage
Washed Up Pirate Captain
Travelling to the Port of Natassja, a lawless town on the icy shores of Wintersbreach, (probably trying to find safe haven), Grotto’s ship was raided by silent and ruthless hooded figures, who black-bagged him, and kidnapped or killed his crew. They kept him in the hold for a day, until they unloaded on a body of land somewhere, and dragging him in shackles, took him to a stone structure, (of which he didn’t see, of course). They kept him in an isolated cell for days, as he heard screams, and other foul sounds from through the halls, until one day, they decided it was time to move on. They loaded him in a carriage, with a number of other prisoners. Along the way, the carriage had a mishap, and a ditch dismounted one of the wheels, and unhinged the door. Barely able to see, Grotto dove out and ran into the forest, as did many of his fellow prisoners. He heard their screams as they were pierced by arrows, one by one, the only reason he was saved from a similar fate, was because he tumbled into a pit, one that had quite obviously been dug, with the intent of capturing… something. After many hours of cowering and being unable to climb up, he was hoisted up by a group of small squabbling humanoids, talking in a language he didn’t understand. Happy to be away from the previous captors, they led him to a dank cave after a number of days, and put him in a cage. They took the hood from his head, and he realised he’s been kidnapped by Kobolds.
